How BirJoy handles your data
This Privacy Policy explains how BirJoy collects, uses, shares, stores, and deletes personal information when you use the BirJoy website, Android or iOS application, marketplace listings, messaging and order request flows, or customer support channels.
We may collect your name, email address, phone number, location coordinates or manually entered city/district when you choose a listing location, your Google or Apple account identifier when you sign in with them, profile image, favorites, listings you publish, uploaded listing photos, moderation results, order requests, messages you exchange with other users in chat, reports you submit, the users you block, and support messages you send to BirJoy. We do not use crash-reporting, analytics or advertising SDKs.
BirJoy uses your data to create and secure your account, publish and moderate listings, deliver chat messages between buyers and sellers, review reports and enforce blocks, show location-aware marketplace results, process order requests, prevent abuse and fraud, respond to support inquiries, and comply with legal obligations.
If you choose Google or Apple sign-in, BirJoy receives the verified identity token and the basic profile data you agree to share (name and email address; with Apple this may be a private relay address). We never receive your Google or Apple password.
On Android and iOS, BirJoy requests access to the camera or photo library only when you intentionally add listing images. Uploaded photos are used only to create or edit your marketplace listing.
BirJoy requests location only to show listings near you on the map and when you use the current-location action in the listing location picker. Your current location used for nearby results stays on your device and is not sent to BirJoy. When you place a listing, its chosen point is stored and shown to other users; you can deny access and choose a point manually.
Chat messages are stored on our servers so that both participants can read them. If you report a conversation, the report, your reason and comment, and the most recent messages of that conversation are made available to BirJoy moderators so they can review it. If you block a user, neither of you can send messages in your conversations; the list of users you block is stored with your account.
BirJoy shares listing data, seller display name, listing images, and contact details that you explicitly publish to marketplace viewers. We also use service providers strictly to operate the service: hosting and database providers, ImageKit for listing photos, Yandex Maps for maps and address search, and Google and Apple for sign-in.
Account and listing data are retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, BirJoy deletes your profile, your listings, your conversations and orders linked to your account from the operational system, except where retention is required by law or for narrowly tailored fraud-prevention records.
You can update your profile information, manage favorites, publish or remove listings, and delete your account from the BirJoy profile page inside the app. If you cannot access your account, use the public account deletion page for manual assistance.
BirJoy uses authentication tokens, access controls, transport encryption on production endpoints, and least-privilege app permissions to reduce risk. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed 100% secure, so please protect your account credentials and contact BirJoy immediately if you suspect misuse.
BirJoy is not intended for children under 13, and marketplace transactions should only be conducted by users legally able to enter into such arrangements under local law.
